What we do

The Foundation for Knowledge Dissemination and Customs Law maintains a comprehensive program of activities aimed at promoting the training, knowledge and research in the field of customs law and international trade.

In the field of activities and agenda, may consult courses, seminars, workshops, conferences and many other events that may be of interest to all professionals and students of these subject areas.

Activities for the year 2011

Throughout 2011, the Foundation for Knowledge and the Diffusion Of Customs Law has planned the following training activities:

OAS Officer courses.

Throughout the year the courses will be held in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona and The Forwarders Association of Barcelona.

Each of them will culminate in a total of 104 hours, with an agenda of 13 units (Strategic Value, The Customs Value, Tariff Classification, VAT, Clearance Procedures, Export, Transit and Customs Clearance, Computing, Security, Analysis Risk Excise, PIF, Procedures and Incoterms OAS).

They will be given by professionals from the customs sector, from Public Administration and private Enterprises.

The courses are aimed at professionals interested in having a better understanding of what is OAS and /or working in companies affected by the OAS certification, such as exporters, importers, manufactures, customs agents, carriers, etc.

The Foundation plans to award scholarships to students from OAS responsible Courses. To obtain this students must have a number of curriculum requirements which will be established with the convening of each Course.

Various Seminars and Conferences in Barcelona, Madrid, Algeciras, Valencia, Bilbao and the Canary Islands, on current topics of great interest in customs administration and the different sectors involved in foreign trade, such as:

a. ENS (Entry Summary Declaration)

b. New GSP rules.

c. VAT on foreign trade.

d. The calculation of customs value.

e. Cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.

f. Excise.

g. Incoterms 2010.

h. Free circulation.

i. International Customs Forum.
